Waivering
Why should I waiver into a class?
Methacton has established the waiver policy as a way of balancing the desire of academic challenge and the importance of meeting prerequisites. If you score within 3-percentage-points of a prerequisite course for your desired course, and still wish to take it, you can request to waiver into the class.

Ex. Johnny Sciencebro took Honors Biology in 9th grade and scored a 78%. He wants to take Honors Chemistry in 10th grade, but that class requires having earned at least an 80% in Honors Bio. Because Johnny still really wants to take Honors Chem and is within 3% of the prerequisite, he can submit a waiver request to still take the class.
How do I waiver into a class?
If you are within the 3% point range in the prerequisite class by the end of the third marking period, you can submit your waiver request to the Department Coordinator (for science, Mr. Steven Savitz). You must make this request within a week of the third marking period report cards being issued.
